A journey from pain to comfort

The Problem

So there I was, sitting in coach class flying from Alaska across the Pacific Ocean to Antarctica, in pain again because my feet could not reach the floor and my legs were dangling off the edge of my seat. This dangling caused inescapable pain in my lower back, hips and legs.

My legs dangled because my popliteal height, the distance from the bottom of my feet to the area behind my knees while sitting, is only 15 inches.

Painting of the earth with Alaska, the Pacific Ocean, New Zealand, and Antarctica depicted.

Why It Matters

The average popliteal height in the United States is between 15 - 19.9 inches. Unfortunately, the average chair seat height is between 17 to 19 inches. That’s a two to four inch gap between the average seat height and the average popliteal height. Lots of room to dangle.

This gap causes pain in my lower back, hip and legs and makes sitting for any length of time uncomfortable or unbearable. Chances are, if you are reading this page, you have felt this pain yourself.

The Solution

Comfortable sitting posture happens when you can rest your feet flat on the floor. If you cannot, RestAngles will bring the floor to your feet! I imagined a lightweight, portable footrest that I (and now YOU) could and can take with me anywhere. From that thought, RestAngles was born and our journey to help people escape their dangling legs by achieving an ergonomic and comfortable sitting experience began.

Your RestAngles is going to love you and we hope you’ll love it right back!

To your sitting comfort,

🩵💚💙💜

RestAngles Initiatives.

We currently have two initiatives we are working on.

Sustainable Packaging

At RestAngles, we are determined to use sustainable packaging whenever possible. Even though our primary product is made from plastic, it is our hope that RestAngles will become a “buy it for life” kind of product. Our tote bags, retail boxes and mailer bags all have sustainability built in. We work with our fabulous manufacturing partners to keep single use plastics out of our supply chain. We will continue to seek out ways to use sustainable packaging products and practices and participate in the circular economy.

When they are entrepreneurs, we will be happily promoting their businesses along with ours in social media posts and other media. There is no obligation to click on any links, of course, and we won’t get any kickbacks or payments if you do. We just love them and want to be useful.
